How Much Do Wedding Flowers Cost in Port Douglas and Cairns?

If you’ve never planned wedding flowers before, working out a realistic budget can feel a bit like pulling a number out of thin air.

And that’s completely understandable. Planning flowers for a wedding is very different to ordering a bouquet for Grandma. There are personal flowers, ceremony features, reception flowers, delivery, set-up, relocation, pack-down and all the little details in between.

For couples planning a wedding in Port Douglas, Cairns, Palm Cove or the Atherton Tablelands, this guide is designed to give you a clearer idea of what different wedding flower budgets can actually look like.

These are not fixed packages. Every wedding is different, and your final floral investment will depend on things like the size of your bridal party, your ceremony and reception plans, flower availability, design scale, venue access and logistics.

But this should give you a realistic starting point, help you set a budget with more confidence and make it easier to work out where you’d most like your flowers to make an impact.

Our minimum floral spend

Our minimum floral order is $3,000, with delivery, set-up, relocation and pack-down quoted separately.

In most cases, that means an overall starting investment of around $3,500.

That starting point is usually best suited to smaller weddings, or couples who want to focus their flowers on one key part of the day rather than trying to have florals everywhere.

At this level, the focus is usually on personal flowers and one main floral moment.

You might be looking at:

  • personal flowers for the couple and around three to four attendants

  • a smaller ceremony feature such as plinth flowers or small urn arrangements

  • perhaps a few bud vases or small floral details at the reception

  • delivery and set-up

  • relocation of suitable ceremony flowers

  • next-day collection and pack-down

The key at this budget is being selective.

Rather than spreading the flowers too thinly, we can help you choose where they will have the most impact. For many couples, that means putting the focus on the ceremony and keeping the reception simpler.

What can you expect with a $5,000 wedding flower budget?

At around $5,000, there is more room to create a stronger floral statement at the ceremony and still carry some of that feeling into the reception.

This might include:

  • personal flowers for the couple and around three to four attendants

  • a more substantial ceremony feature such as standard floral pillars or a floor circle

  • perhaps a few aisle arrangements

  • selected reception flowers, such as bud vases or a feature arrangement

  • delivery, set-up, relocation and pack-down

This level works well for couples who want the ceremony to feel quite floral, but do not necessarily need flowers across every part of the reception.

It gives us more freedom to create something with a little more scale and presence, while still keeping the overall plan considered.

What does an $8,000 wedding flower budget allow for?

From around $8,000, flowers can start appearing across more of the wedding rather than being concentrated in just one or two areas.

You might be looking at:

  • personal flowers for the couple and around three to four attendants

  • a strong ceremony feature such as standard pillars, a floor circle or a larger grouped floral design

  • some aisle flowers

  • a more considered selection of reception florals

  • perhaps a feature arrangement for the bar, welcome area or another key space

  • delivery, set-up, relocation and pack-down

There is still some prioritising involved, but this level gives you more scope to carry the floral style through the day and create a more connected overall look.

This does not necessarily mean a huge wedding. It simply means the flowers can have a stronger presence across both the ceremony and reception.

What can $12,000+ create for wedding flowers?

From around $12,000, we can start looking at larger-scale floral styling and more statement work.

That might include:

  • personal flowers for the couple and bridal party

  • large floral pillars

  • larger ceremony installations

  • feature floral designs

  • statement reception centrepieces

  • floral installations within the reception space

  • feature arrangements across key areas of the venue

  • delivery, set-up, relocation and pack-down

At this level, flowers become a much bigger part of the overall look and atmosphere of the wedding.

Rather than simply decorating individual areas, we can start thinking about how the floral design works through the whole space and how each part of the wedding connects visually.

Where should you spend your wedding flower budget?

There is no single right answer.

Some couples would rather have a beautiful bouquet and one incredible ceremony feature, then keep the reception simple.

Others want flowers on every table and are happy to keep the ceremony more pared back.

And some want flowers to be one of the major visual elements of the entire wedding.

That is why knowing your approximate budget early is so useful.

It helps us guide you towards the areas where your flowers will have the greatest impact, rather than creating a wish list that does not match the amount you are comfortable spending.

Why do we ask for your budget?

We are not asking because we want to spend every dollar you have.

We ask because your budget helps us understand what is realistic for the scale and style of wedding you are planning.

It lets us guide you properly, suggest where to invest, where to simplify and how to create a floral plan that feels generous and cohesive without overpromising.

It also saves everyone time.

If we know from the beginning that you want large floral pillars, aisle flowers and reception centrepieces, we can give you a much more realistic idea of what that style of wedding is likely to cost.

Do you need to know exactly which flowers you want?

No.

You do not need to arrive with a complete flower list or know the name of every variety.

In fact, we would much rather know the colours, textures, mood and overall feeling you are drawn to.

Seasonal availability plays an important part in our work, particularly for weddings in Far North Queensland.

Rather than copying another florist’s design exactly, we take inspiration from your ideas and create something suited to your venue, season and celebration.

That gives us the flexibility to choose the best flowers available while still staying true to the overall look you love.
