Floristry Workshops & Education
Teaching has always been an important part of The Posy Crew.
Alongside my wedding and event work, I run relaxed, practical floral workshops in Cairns and Far North Queensland for anyone who wants to learn new skills, get creative with flowers and enjoy the process.
My workshops are designed to be hands-on, approachable and fun. You don’t need to be a florist or have any previous experience, just a willingness to have a go and work with beautiful seasonal flowers.

Christmas Wreath Workshop Cairns
Friday 11 December 2026
Get into the festive spirit with a relaxed, hands-on Christmas wreath workshop in Cairns.
During this two-hour floral design class, you’ll create your own unique dried Christmas wreath using a beautiful mix of interesting botanical materials, textures and festive details.
I’ll guide you through the techniques for building your wreath, creating balance and movement and finishing it so you leave with something you’ll be proud to hang at home for Christmas.
No previous floristry experience is needed and there’s plenty of room to make your wreath completely your own.

Halloween Flower Arranging Workshop Cairns

Join us for a slightly spooky twist on our regular Cairns flower arranging workshop.
In this relaxed, hands-on floral design class, we’ll create a colourful seasonal arrangement with a little Halloween inspiration thrown in. I’ll guide you through flower preparation, placement, balance, shape and the techniques I use to create natural, interesting floral designs.
And because this is one of our few Saturday workshops, it’s a great chance to join us if weekday classes normally don’t work for you.
No previous floristry experience is needed. Just come along, play with flowers and have some fun.

Mother’s Day Flower Arranging Workshop Cairns Saturday

Join us for a relaxed, hands-on Mother’s Day flower arranging workshop in Cairns, where you’ll each create a beautiful garden-style floral arrangement using a mix of seasonal flowers and foliage.
This is one of our favourite workshops of the year and a lovely way to spend a couple of hours together, whether you’re coming with Mum, your daughter, a friend or someone special.
During the workshop, I’ll guide you through the basics of floral design and flower arranging, including flower preparation, placement, balance, shape and how to create that loose, garden-inspired style we love at The Posy Crew.
No previous floristry experience is needed. Everything is provided, so you can simply turn up, enjoy the flowers and have a bit of fun together.

About your tutor
I’m Debra Pemble, an International Master Florist, award-winning floral designer and educator with more than 20 years’ experience in the floristry industry.
I spent many years teaching Certificate III and IV floristry and continue to teach through workshops, mentoring and The Flowery Folk.
My teaching style is practical, relaxed and focused on helping people understand not just how to create something, but why the techniques work.
